Valencia Martial Arts in Valencia, CA is now hosting a Shinkendo Study Group. Sensei Matthew Lynch, instructor at the World Headquarters in Little Tokyo Los Angeles, is teaching Shinkendo Traditional Japanese Swordsmanship three Sundays a month, from 11:00am to 1:00pm.

Shinkendo is the study of authentic Japanese Swordsmanship, as codified and taught by world master Toshishiro Obata. Sensei Obata holds high ranks in many traditional schools of swordsmanship and related martial arts in Japan, and has used his vast perspective and experiences to create a unified, comprehensive art that teaches not just one or two, but every crucial aspect of true swordsmanship. Sensei Matthew Lynch is the head instructor at Mashuu Dojo in Van Nuys, and has been a senior student and instructor at the Honbu Dojo under Obata Sensei for many years.
